ST. PAUL, MINN. — The Vikings tied the Golden Bears 0-0 on Friday, September 25. The Vikings withstood five Concordia-St. Paul attacking actions from the 75th to the 87th minute without conceding.
Linnea Larson recorded seven saves over 90 minutes of play and finished with a shutout.
Madelyn White led the Vikings with six shots, putting three on goal.
Grace Katter added four shots, including two on goal.
The Vikings created the first chances of the first half, with White taking a shot in the opening minute and earning a corner kick in the first minute as well. The Golden Bears pushed back with a series of attempts from the 9th through the 17th minute, but Larson saved shots from Lexi Pettit and Sophia Haase as the Vikings kept the match scoreless. Ella Weide later in the half, while Concordia-St. Paul added a corner and one more off-target attempt before the teams went to halftime without a goal on the board.
Laina Souerdyke put the Vikings' first chance of the second half off the top woodwork in the 48th minute, and White added another attempt less than a minute later. The Golden Bears forced Larson into saves in the 56th, 65th, 75th, and 78th minutes, with another shot hitting the woodwork in the 79th minute as the match stayed 0-0. Augustana answered with a late push, earning corner kicks in the 81st, 83rd, and 84th minutes while Katter recorded two shots during that stretch. White put a shot on frame in the 89th minute and missed right shortly after, but neither side broke through before the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
