SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – In Saturday's matchup against No. 6 Washburn, Augustana fell 3-0. WU posted 42 kills with a .255 hitting percentage, while holding AU to 31 kills and a .093 hitting percentage.

After WU built a 5-2 lead behind kills from Emma Siron, Kennedy Derks and Natalie Hedlund, AU pulled even at 5-5 on a block by Maya Wente and Kelby Opland and moved in front 6-5 on Reagan Jansen's kill. The teams traded points through 8-8 before the Ichabods went ahead 11-8 with kills from Brynne Topolski and Brooklyn Morrissey and a block by Siron and Morrissey, while AU stayed within 14-13 on consecutive WU attack errors. WU stretched the margin to 19-15 with kills by Hedlund, Topolski and Siron, and after a service error made it 19-16, the Ichabods took six of the final seven points to close the set 25-17 on Siron's kill.

Augustana moved ahead 4-2 early in the second set behind a Wente kill, a block by Wente and Kiylah Franke, and an Alexis Nelson kill, but WU worked back to ties at 6-6 and 8-8. After the Ichabods led 10-9, Lucy Belisle tied the set with a kill, and AU used a WU attack error plus kills from Wente and Belisle to go in front 13-10. The home side later led 18-14 on a Sydney Tims kill, but the Ichabods scored the next four points to tie it at 18-18 and, after a 19-19 tie, added three more points for a 22-19 lead. Belisle's kill and an Abby Gruber service ace brought AU within 22-21, and a block by Belisle and Jansen cut WU's set point to 24-23 before Emma Siron's kill closed the set for the Ichabods, 25-23.

WU put AU in an early 6-0 hole, using two kills apiece from Natalie Hedlund and Brooklyn Morrissey along with two AU attack errors. Wente's kill got AU on the board, and Jansen later had three kills as the set moved to 15-7 in the Ichabods' favor. Belisle helped AU string together four straight points from 18-7 to 18-11 with two kills around a Gruber ace and a block by Franke and Wente. WU pushed back ahead 24-14, and after consecutive Jansen kills extended the set, a block by Kennedy Derks and Emma Siron finished the set at 25-16.
