Bender on Augustana: "Augustana University impressed me with all of the academic and athletic opportunities it provides for students."
Binstock on Bender: “Haley is a strong, young woman who has already been supportive of her future team. She's excited to join the family and ready for the next level of competition. I have no doubt she will fit right in with our group of vaulters. She seems to be a strong-minded vaulter and a competitor. I’m excited to get her here and competing for us.”
Haight on Augustana: “When people asked me about Augustana, I found myself saying ‘It was weird because it wasn’t weird. When I met the team, there was no hesitation; I immediately realized that Augustana isn’t just a team, it’s a family, and I’m beyond excited to be a part of it.”
Hellman on Haight: “Mariah is as genuine of a person as they come. Her energy and enthusiasm, combined with her athletic ability, will enhance our environment on a daily basis.”
Binstock on Leber: “Delaney has incredible versatility and I can't wait to see her flourish at the collegiate level. What excites me most about Delaney is her work ethic and potential to improve. She's a competitor and is going to work hard to be a factor on our team and in our conference. Delaney will join our mid-distance squad this fall and make an immediate impact on our team. I look forward to her wearing the Augustana colors."
Mulder on Augustana: “I chose Augustana because I really enjoy the comfortable atmosphere it has to offer. When talking with coaches and professors, I really got the idea that I would fit in well and it would be a great place for me to be challenged, yet still succeed. The facilities the college has and all of the surrounding businesses in the city will be a great asset to my major.”
Binstock on Mulder: “Kaitlyn joins our sprint squad at the beginning of a new era. As our well-accomplished upperclassmen begin to reach the ends of their careers, I am very excited to have Kaitlyn to follow in their footsteps. Looking forward, many of our top athletes will be freshmen and sophomores I am enthused to see how they will come together and earn their spot on the team and among the conference. Kaitlyn is an excellent student and we believe she will be a great example of a hardworking student-athlete both on and off the field."
Binstock on Gray: “Jacob is going to be another big asset to our jump program. He has a lot of speed that I feel he is just beginning to utilize on the runway and I think we are going to see some big jumps this year and beyond. With this speed I also feel he has the crossover ability to impact the sprints.”
Hellman on Mvuyekure: "Coach Shane Reilly is developing a great program at Washington High School and we’re thrilled to add another of their runners to our program. Bonheur is a raw talent and it should be exciting to see what he can accomplish with his college career.”
Paron on Augustana: “I chose to commit to Augustana because of the amazing atmosphere it provides. I really feel it will offer me the best academic and athletic opportunities for my personal achievement. I am very excited to be a Viking next year!”
Hellman on Paron: “Jake is a driven individual and we’re excited to have him work alongside our men every day. We believe he has a lot of upside at the college level and look forward to helping him pursue that potential.”
Binstock on Toso: “Matthew is an athlete that we see with a big upside and I feel he will fit in great with our established mid-distance crew. As a multi-sport athlete in high school, I am excited for him to be able to have a clear focus in his training as he moves up to the next level. We couldn't have asked for a more polite young man and he is going to represent our family both on and off the field by leading a great example.”
Woelber on Augustana: "I chose Augustana because of the coaches and the atmosphere. It just felt right, like a family."
Binstock on Woelber: “Tyl and I spent a greater part of the last year discussing the possibility of joining our family and we are both happy to say it was all worth it. Tyl, very much like his older sister Bree Woelber (Augustana Graduate of 2016, and current assistant coach), is a versatile athlete in the jump events and he should make an immediate impact on the jump squad. As we begin to develop that group on the men’s side I am very excited to have someone such as Tyl make his mark on the Augustana program. I think he's just the type of young man to accept the challenges ahead and extend the Woelber legacy here at Augustana.”
