Kelly Shipp enters his second year as the Athletic Communications Assistant at Augustana in 2016-17.
Shipp is the main media contact for volleyball, women’s basketball, baseball & men’s golf.
Shipp is a native of Underwood, Iowa and earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Mass Media with an emphasis in Sports Media from Northwest Missouri State University in 2015.
Shipp spent three years serving as a student assistant to the Sports Information Director at Northwest, where he helped with the media efforts for the 14 varsity sports offered as well as the 2013 NCAA Division II Football National Championship team and two Men’s Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association Conference basketball championships.
A few of Shipp’s responsibilities while at NWMSU included writing press releases, running social media accounts, creating weekly athletic videos and updating the website.
Shipp also Interned with the 2014 M.I.N.K League Champion and NBC World Series participant St. Joseph Mustangs Baseball Club during the summer of 2014, where he was responsible for setting up community events for players and coaches, on-field interviews and running all social media accounts.
Shipp resides in Sioux Falls and is pursuing his Master’s Degree in Sports Administration and Leadership at Augustana.
