High School: 2010 graduate of Pella Community High School ... three-year letterwinner and starter ... captained squad as senior ... passed for 1,766 yards and 18 touchdowns as senior ... rushed for 454 yards and four  touchdowns ... averaged 39.7 yards on 55 punts with long punt of 73 yards .... made 49 of 51 extra points and 6 of 10 field goals with  long kick of 46 yards ... 14 of 51 kickoffs were touchbacks ... ... passed for 1,742 yards and 25 touchdowns and rushed for 298 yards and four touchdowns as junior ...  averaged 36.6 yards per punt with  long kick of 78 yards ... made 50 of 53 point afters and 4 of 7 field goals ... twice named all-district first team as quarterback and once as punter ... named to Des Moines Register Elite Team All-State and Class 3A All-State firs team team as kicker ... named Iowa Newspaper Association Class 3A All-State punter ... helped team to three-straight Class 3A playoff appearances, including  runner-up finish in 2009 and semifinal appearance in 2008 ... earned academic all-conference and academic all-district honors ... played for Jay McKinstrey .... also four-year starter on soccer team and  three-year starter on basketball team.
