Amber Beman is in her first year as a volunteer assistant track and field coach at Augustana. Prior to joining the Vikings' coaching staff, she spent 5 years as the women's assistant track and field coach at Minnesota State where she coached the sprints and hurdles. From 2006-2010, she coached eight individual All-Americans, earning a total of 28 All-American honors, as well as helping guide student-athletes to 10 school records and multiple conference records. While at Mankato, Amber earned her master's degree in the field of sport psychology.
Amber received her undergraduate degree from South Dakota in 2006, earning a bachelor's in psychology and criminal justice. At USD, she was a 10-time qualifier for the NCAA Meet, three-time All-American and a five-time NCAA Academic All-American. She helped guide the Coyotes to five North Central Conference championships and was a two-time league champion in the 500-meters and the 400-meter hurdles. During her time at USD, Beman earned 11 all-conference honors.
