Jason Thier is in his second year as a graduate assistant for the Augustana football program. He works with linebackers and also serves as the team's video coordinator.
Thier played at Truman State (Mo.), where he was a three-year starter at linebacker. In his senior season, he led the Bulldogs with 99 tackles and recorded four interceptions, one sack, one touchdown and two forced fumbles. Thier was also named to the All-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Defense second team, received MIAA Player of the Week Honors and was tabbed the Bulldogs' most valuable player. As a junior, he recorded 61 tackles and three sacks and was named to the MIAA Commissioner’s Academic Team.
A native of Glendale, Ariz., Thier graduated from TSU with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 2009. He is currently working toward his master’s degree at Augustana.
