Tyler Schulte, a three-time All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference first team selection as a wide receiver, returns to Augustana as an assistant coach in 2012. Schulte will work with the Viking receivers.

Schulte, a native of Sioux Falls, was a key player in Augustana's 2010 season, the most successful in school history. The Vikings recorded a school-record 11 wins (three more than the previous mark), captured a share of the NSIC South Division title, and made their first playoff appearance since 1989. Augustana also hosted and won its first playoff game by defeating Grand Valley State at Kirkeby-Over Stadium.

Schulte's contributions in 2010 included a school record 18-touchdown receptions and a record-tying single-game effort of four scoring catches against the University of Mary. He was also on the receiving end of a 99-yard pass from current Augustana quarterback Josh Hanson, a strike that stands as the longest completion and touchdown pass, and longest play from scrimmage in school history.

Schulte resides in Sioux Falls and is also employed by Sanford Health.
