High School: A three-year starter at Waukee High School … A team captain as a senior… Was a three-time All-Central Iowa Metropolitan League (CIML) performer, including a unanimous selection as a senior in 2007 … Also a three-time academic all-state selection … Recorded 41 tackles and 4 interceptions to go along with 20 catches for 273 yards and 2 touchdowns in his senior season … Helped lead the Warriors to a 7-3 record and their first Class 4A playoff appearance in school history … Was named to the Iowa Newspaper Association All-State First Team as a defensive back in 2007 … Had 57 tackles and 2 interceptions after collecting 76 tackles and 3 interceptions as a sophomore … Offensively, had 22 receptions for 345 yards and 2 touchdowns as a junior … Also an all-conference basketball player and a state qualifier in track.
