Ian McKeithen

Ian McKeithen is in his second season on the Augustana men's basketball staff as a graduate assistant coach.

McKeithen began his college basketball career at Imperial Valley College in Imperial, Calif. In his freshman year, he averaged 8 points and 3 rebounds per game. As a sophomore he improved his average to 10 points and 4 rebounds per game, to gain All-Conference Honorable Mention after leading the team to a 17-14 record.

He then transferred to Dakota State University in Madison, S.D., for his junior and senior years of college. In his junior year he averaged 8 points and 3 rebounds per game and 11.6 points and 4 rebounds per game as a senior.

During his senior year, he was the second-leading scorer on the team as the sixth man. The team posted a 15-15 overall record and a 12-6 record in conference play en route to the team's best record in 10 years. DSU advanced to the second round of the conference playoffs. He finished his college career with 1,016 points.

After his playing days, McKeithen became a student assistant coach at Dakota State, where he graduated in 2007 with a bachelor's degree as a business management major.

After graduation he completed a basketball operations internship for the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2007 to 2008.

McKeithen is currently working toward his master's degree in education at Augustana.
