Brady Ferner

In his second season on the bench, Ferner helped guide Augustana to a 22-11-4 overall record and a third-place finish in the CCHA during the 2025-26 season while helping the Vikings secure the program’s first Mason Cup Playoff series victory. Augustana compiled a 16-2-3 home record and advanced to the CCHA Mason Cup Semifinals in just the program’s third season. The Vikings developed into one of the nation’s top defensive teams, allowing just 2.00 goals per game with a .938 team save percentage and an 88.2 percent penalty kill.

During his first season on the bench, Ferner helped the Vikings to an 18-13-4 overall record and a 9-5-2 conference record. Augustana secured four nationally ranked wins against Ohama and Colorado College. The squad finished second in the CCHA in penalty kill percentage (.837), second in goals against average (2.14), second in scoring margin (.63) and second in winning percentage (.571). During the season, Augustana had 10 players who garnered CCHA weekly honors, three CCHA monthly awards, and two national monthly awards.

Ferner joined the Vikings in the summer before the 2024-25 season. In the 2023-24 season, he worked as a skill development coach for the Des Moines Buccaneers. Before coaching, Ferner played three seasons with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute before transferring to North Dakota for his final season. Ferner, a Dakota Dunes, South Dakota native, grew up training in Sioux Falls.
