Mike Lynch joined the Augustana Track and Field coaching staff in 2016-17 as an assistant coach. Lynch primarily works with mid-distance student-athletes at Augustana.
Lynch was instrumental in assisting Valerie Moos (400-meter hurdles) and Josh Barrows (400-meter hurdles and 800-meters) each qualify for their first NCAA Outdoor Championships. Lynch also had a big part in helping Barrows win the NSIC Outdoor Championship in the 400-meter hurdles and Moos break the school record in the 400-meter hurdles.
In the 2016-17 indoor season, Lynch  helped Josh Barrows qualify in the 800-meters for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Lynch also was a part of Barrows' breaking the NSIC meet record in the 800-meters.
