2022 (Senior): Earned NSIC All-Academic honors…Appeared in 15 games while making nine starts…Held a 6-1 record in 2022…Spent 53 innings on the mound…Recorded 45 strikeouts.

2021 (Junior): Appeared in 16 games and started four games on the mound for the Vikings… Had a 4.45 ERA, 4-1 record and 37 strikeouts in 28.1 innings pitched… Earned a spot on the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence.

2020 (Junior): Started three games and made four appearances on the mound for the Vikings… Had a 3.97 ERA with 12 strikeouts… Season cut short due to COVID-19.

2019 (Sophomore): Appeared in 13 games on the mound and made four starts… Went 4-2 on the season with a 4.18 ERA in 32.1 innings pitched… Struck out 30 hitters.

2018 (Freshman): Schmidt made 8 starts in 11 appearances as a pitcher for the Vikings in 2018 …  Had a 3.03 ERA … He went 3-1 overall and recorded one save in 38.2 innings pitched … He struck out 29 batters and allowed just three home runs and five doubles … Opponents hit only .223 off of him … He made three appearances at the plate, and scored two runs and was 2-for-2 stealing bases … Schmidt was a member of a team that won a program-best 52 games, an NSIC Conference Tournament championship, a Central Region Tournament Championship and the school’s first ever National Championship

High School Notes: As a junior Schmidt posted a .457 batting average with 11 doubles and 22 stolen bases … on the mound he went 3-4 pitching 37 innings with a 2.08 ERA and 37 strikeouts … he earned All-Region and First Team All-State honors … as a sophomore he he batted .435 while leading the team in sacrifice bunts and stolen bases … he helped lead his team to a second-place finish in state … he earned All-Region and First Team All-State honors … as a freshman he batted .375
