Former Division I hitter Lauren Starks enters her second season as a member of the Augustana volleyball coaching staff in 2013.
In 2012, Starks helped the Vikings to a 17-13 overall reacord and a trip to the NSIC Tournament after recording a 11-9 conference mark.
A native of Olathe, Kan., Starks played for Missouri-Kansas City from 2004 to 2007. She co-captained her squad as a junior and senior and was a Summit League All-Freshman Team selection in 2004. Starks finished her career with the Kangaroos with 963 kills (10th all-time at UMKC), 762 digs and 102 service aces (fifth all-time at UMKC).
Starks earned her bachelor’s degree in English education from UMKC in 2008.
Starks has made assistant coaching stops in Kansas at St. Teresa’s High School (2011) and Bishop Miege High School (2009 to 2010). She also served as the head coach for the 15-year-old gold team of the Slam/PVA volleyball club.
Starks resides in Sioux Falls and is pursuing her master’s in sports administration and leadership at Augustana.
