Jayd Docken enters his third season as an assistant coach for the Augustana wrestling program in 2020-21.

Docken helped guide the 2019-20 Vikings to a 10-4 dual record and 6-2 NSIC record with five wins over nationally-ranked opponents. Despite being picked fourth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches Poll, Augustana finished second in the NSIC standings and took third-place at the Super Region 5 Tournament. Individually, Docken saw two Vikings garner All-America honors, three wrestlers qualify for nationals and nine wrestlers win tournaments throughout the regular season.

In the 2018-19 season, Docken's first as an assistant coach, Augustana finished fourth in the NSIC with a conference record of 4-4 and had an overall record of 5-4. Augustana would go on to place fifth in the regionals with 61 points and qualify two wrestlers for the NCAA Championships.

The 2018-19 team featured two All-Americans, two all-conference selections, and six academic all-NSIC athletes. 

In the 2017-18 season, Docken's second as a graduate assistant, Augustana tied for second in the NSIC with a conference record of 6-2 and had an overall record of 11-4. The Vikings also finished sixth in the region and and two national qualifiers. 

Aero Amo made his third straight trip to Nationals and Lukas Poloncic became a first time qualifier. Amo became the 19th two-time All-American in Augustana history with a seventh place finish and the 33rd Viking with multiple All-American honors. 

During his first season as a graduate assistant in 2016-17, Docken helped with the wrestlers at the heavier weight classes. Docken was a part of the coaching staff that had five wrestlers qualify for Nationals.

Docken specifically helped Aero Amo, Ben Goodwin and Michael Lowman reach the national tournament, where Lowman (4th) and Amo (5th) earned All-American honors.

The team finished with a record of 12-7 in duals on the season and earning a NSIC dual record of 6-2, good for third in the conference. The team also placed fourth at the Super Region 3 Championships and took 11th at the NCAA Championships.

Docken, who was a four-year letterwinner and two-time All-American, finished his career with a record of 89-27 at Augustana.

Docken qualified for the national tournament all four seasons at Augustana, finishing third at the  Super Region Three Tournament three times and fourth once. He was a three-time All-NSIC honoree, including perfect records against NSIC opponents his sophomore and senior seasons.

Docken graduated from Augustana with a degree in Sports Management. He was four-time Division II All-Academic Team selection and a three-time Academic All-NSIC team honoree.

Docken currently resides in Sioux Falls, S.D. and is pursuing his master’s degree in sports administration and leadership at Augustana.
