Nate Buys enters his 11th season on the Augustana wrestling staff in 2017-18 after serving as a graduate assistant for the Vikings.
A native of Hull, Iowa, Buys enjoyed a successful career with the Vikings from 2004 to 2007. He was a two-time All-America selection at Augustana, wrestling at 184 and 197 pounds. Buys was also a junior college All-America honoree and national runner-up at 197 pounds at Minnesota West Community College.
Buys earned his degree in physical education from Augustana in 2007.
Buys is currently employed as a physical education teacher at Garfield Elementary School in Sioux Falls. He resides in Sioux Falls with his wife Heather and their son Andrew.
