Augustana College soccer player
Erin Seidel has been named the North Central Conference Soccer Player of the Week after her goal scoring spree over the weekend.
Seidel, a sophomore from Sioux Falls, set two school records and tied a third in helping the Vikings to a 5-2 win over Minnesota State-Moorhead and a 4-0 victory over Minnesota-Crookston.
Against Minnesota-Crookston on Sunday, Seidel scored a single-game record four goals, breaking the previous record of three. Her eight points was also a single-game record. In addition, her three first-half goals matched a school record for goals scored in a half, which had been set on Saturday by Amy Nelson.
Seidel began the weekend with a goal and an assist against MSU-Moorhead.
Seidel now has 14 goals on the season, four shy of her single-season record of 18 which she established last season. Augustana still has eight regular season games remaining on the schedule.
