Shaunteva Ashley (G, 5-8, Jr., Sioux Falls, S.D. / Roosevelt HS) displayed quite the all-around game for the Vikings this past weekend, helping guide them to a 1-1 record in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play. On Friday, the Sioux Falls, S.D. native did a little bit of everything for Augustana in a loss to rival Sioux Falls. Ashley scored 19 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and handed out seven assists in the 84-72 loss. Ashley turned in what may have been her best performance this year on Saturday against Southwest Minnesota State. The junior poured in a career-high 27 points and an efficient 11-of-18 shooting, which included going 2 of 5 from behind the arc. Ashley also recorded five rebounds, five assists, and three steals, and 0 turnovers in 32 minutes of action in the Vikings' 96-68 win over the Mustangs. For the Weekend, Ashley averaged 23 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and an impressive 51.4 percent field goal percentage (18 of 35).
