Kayla Mescher (Mid-Distance, Jr., Brighton, Colo./Brighton HS) helped the Vikings to their third-place finish with two event wins at the NSIC Indoor Championships this past weekend. Mescher defended her title in the women's 800-meter run. The junior qualified on Friday then clocked a provisional qualifying 2:15.54 to win the event for the second straight season. Mescher earned her second event win as part of the women's distance medley relay team. Running the 400-meter leg, Mescher helped the Vikings to a provisional mark of 12:15.12, nearly winning by 10 seconds. Mescher owns qualifying times in the 800-meter run and as a member of the distance medley relay squad that both rank in the top 30 of Division II.
