Men finish eighth, women 14th at Roy Griak Invite

MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS

MINNEAPOLIS –
Augustana men's cross country finished eighth out of 15 Division I teams in the men's Gold Division 8,000-meter race. Paul Yak finished seventh overall with a time of 24:55.8.

The Viking women finished 14th out of 17 women's Division I teams in the Gold Division 6,000-meter course. Kristin Brondbo was Augustana's highest finisher on the women's side with a time of 22:30.

“It was an exciting atmosphere today with our teams running in the Division I races,” Viking head coach Tracy Hellman said. “Today's races were a good starting point for our seasons. We had some bright spots and performances, yet we realize we still have a lot of work to do.”

On the men's side, Travis Beniak finished 19th overall with a time of 25:14. Adam Braun completed the course in 26:03 finishing in 53rd. TJ Gleason crossed the tape with a time of 26:07 (56th) and Nathan Hauge finished 73r5d with a time of 26:22.

Ryan Evans finished 86th with a time of 26:42 and Jordan Slusser crossed the line in 88th-place with a time of 26:45.

On the women's side, Leah Black finished 55th overall with a time of 22:55 while Annie Pfiefle finished the course in 62nd-place with a time of 23:09. Kyle Blakeslee paced the course with a time of 23:41 to finish 86th out of 211 runners.

Augustana returns to action on Oct. 6 at the Wisconsin-Parkside Invite.
