TEAM RESULTS | INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
ALLENDALE, Mich. – Augustana women's golf shot a 321 in the second round to finish sixth out of 26 teams at 67-over-par 643 (322-321) at the NCAA Division II National Preview hosted by Grand Valley State University.
Florida Tech won the 36-hole tournament by defeating Grand Valley State on the fourth playoff hole. Florida Tech and Grand Valley both finished at 50-over-par 626 to force the playoff.
Nova Southeastern placed third at 58-over-par 634, followed by Ashland in fourth at 59-over-par 635, Lynn in fifth at 64-over-par 640 and Augustana in sixth.
Grand Valley State had the top two individual finishers, including medalist Kelly Hartigan who carded a six-over-par 150 (73-77).
Freshman
Emily Israelson led Augustana placing ninth out of 132 players shooting a 12-over-par 156 in the two-round tournament. Israelson shot a four-over-par 76 in the first round on Saturday before carding an eight-over-par 80 today.
Marisa Toivonen took four strokes off her first round score shooting a five-over-par 77 on Sunday. Toivonen tied for 13th overall at 14-over-par 158 (81-77).
Freshman
Sierra Langlie delivered a great round on Sunday as well, taking five strokes off her first round score, shooting a five-over-par 77 to tie for 17th at 15-over-par 159 (82-77).
Jennifer Pederson tied for 54th at 26-over-par 170 (83-87) and
Jordan Bormann tied for 58th with a 27-over-par 171 (84-87).
Augustana will now turn its attention toward the NSIC Championships as the first two rounds will be played at Madden's on Gull Lake in Brainerd, Minn. next Saturday and Sunday. The final two rounds of the conference championships will be held at Dacotah Ridge Golf Course in Morton, Minn. April 25-26.
Augustana is the five-time defending NSIC Champion in women's golf.
