NCAA Football Selection Show to air at 4 p.m. Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Division II Football Selection Show will be aired at 4 p.m. (CT) today on NCAA.com announcing the field for the 2015 playoffs. Augustana was ranked fifth in the most recent release of the NCAA Super Region Three rankings.

The top seven teams announced on the selection show today will earn at-large bids to the NCAA Playoffs.

Super Region Three is made up of teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, the Mid-America Athletic Association, the Great American Conference and the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

Augustana concluded the regular season on Saturday with a 76-21 win over Concordia-St. Paul. The Vikings finished the regular season with a record of 9-2, including winning a share of the NSIC South Division title at 6-1 in divisional play. The nine wins marks just the second time in program history Augustana has won nine or more games in a season. Augustana won a program-best 11 games in 2010.

Augustana has made three NCAA Playoff appearances in program history, most recently in 2010. The Vikings also made playoff appearances in 1988 and 1989. In 2010, Augustana won its first NCAA Playoff game with a 38-6 victory over No. 6 Grand Valley State at Kirkeby-Over Stadium on Nov. 27, 2010.

Augustana set a new single-season mark for total offense in a season with 5,248 yards in 2015. Trey Heid broke the single-season record for passing yards in Saturday's win over Concordia-St. Paul. Heid has thrown for 3,317 yards in 2015. The Vikings also had three players go over 1,000 yards individually on the season, including CJ Ham becoming the first running back since 2012 to rush for 1,000-plus yards in a season.

Matt Heller and Charlie Hayes both went over 1,000 yards receiving on the season in yesterday's win as well. The duo are the first at Augustana to go over 1,000 receiving yards in 15 seasons. Matt Holmlund recorded 1,365 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns in 2000.
