Viking Football Adds 26 on National Signing Day

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana head football coach Jerry Olszewski has announced the addition of 26 student-athletes to Augustana football on National Signing Day. The group of Vikings will join the team at fall camp in August 2026.  
 
"Today was a big day for Augustana University football as we officially welcome our 2026 signing class and their families to the Viking Football Family," Olszewski said. "This day represents the culmination of endless hours of talent search, relationship building and future impact in Viking Football."

"I am thrilled about the quality of talent we assembled in this group that comes from nine different states as we addressed the immediate needs and future depth required to continue to be a championship football program."

Kyson Arndt | 6'5" | 225 | Defensive Line | Canby, Minn. | Minneota High School
High School: Arndt is a four-year letterwinner, three-year starter and senior captain for the Minneota Vikings. Arndt was part of a dynasty, winning four state championships and closing his high school career with 45 consecutive victories. As a senior, Arndt tallied 11.0 tackles for loss, 6.0 sacks and two blocked field goals while earning a spot in the Minnesota All-Star Football Game. That followed a junior season where he tallied 9.0 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks and two blocked kicks.

Personal: Kyson is the son of Ryan and Kristi Arndt. He plans to major in business administration while at Augustana.

DJ Bronson | 6'0" | 160 | Defensive Back | Kansas City, Mo. | Park Hill High School
High School: Bronson was a two-time captain for the Park Hill Trojans. As a senior, he made 85 tackles, broke up four passes, recorded four interceptions and blocked a program-record four kicks while earning all-conference and all-district honors. He played 12 games for a section runner-up team as a junior, collecting seven pass breakups and 73 tackles. 

Personal: DJ is the son of Dontae Bronson Sr. and Alexis Mack. He plans to major in journalism and sports management while at Augustana. 

Mason Busse | 6'5" | 295 | Offensive Line | Chippewa Falls, Wis. | McDonell Central High School
High School: Busse is a four-year starter and senior captain for the Chippewa Falls Bulldogs. He won a state championship as a senior while being named all-region on both the offensive and defensive lines while earning an all-state nod on the offensive line. He was named all-county and first team all-conference while helping lead his team to the playoffs as a junior. 

Personal: Mason is the son of Justus and Amanda Busse. He plans to major in business administration while at Augustana.

Dominic Carmigiano | 6'4" | 185 | Quarterback | Gilbert, Ariz. | Red Mountain High School
High School: Carmigiano was a two-year starter for Red Mountain Mountain Lions. As a senior, he completed 99 of 153 passes for 1,286 yards and 15 touchdowns in seven games while earning an all-region first team nod. Carmigiano helped lead his team to a region championship for the first time in school history. 

Personal: Dominic is the son of Michael Carmigiano and Jennifer Carmigiano. He plans to major in business administration at Augustana. 

Micah Fenney | 6'5" | 230 | Defensive Line | Cologne, Minn. | Central High School
High School: Fenney was a four-year starter and two-year captain for the Central Raiders. He tallied 87 tackles, including 22.0 for loss, while adding 4.5 sacks, five forced fumbles and four blocked kicks while adding five passes defensed. He was the District Lineman of the Year and first team all-district selection and earned a spot in the Minnesota All-Star Football Game. As a junior, Fenney had 75 tackles, 18.0 for loss, and had five sacks and three forced fumbles while being named all-district. He was also an all-district selection as a sophomore. 

Personal: Micah is the son of LD and Rhonda Fenney. He is undecided on his future major.

Josh Gustum | 6'8" | 285 | Offensive Line | Merrill, Wis. | Merrill High School
High School: Gustum was a starter and senior captain for the Merrill Bluejays and coach Jason Wadzinski. He was a unanimous all-conference selection and all-region pick while spending plenty of time putting defenders on their back.

Personal: Joshua is the son of Matt and Christie Gustum. He plans to major in engineering while at Augustana.

Taylor Hackbarth | 6'4" | 240 | Defensive Line | Norwood Young America, Minn. | Central High School
High School: Hackbarth was a three-year letterwinner and senior captain for the Central Raiders. He had 86 tackles, including 12.0 for loss, while adding three sacks and six forced fumbles on his way to all-district honors. That followed up a junior season where he was named all-district and made a state tournament appearance after recording 92 tackles, 14.0 for loss, and 4.5 sacks. He is a two-time district champion and 2024 section champion. 

Personal: Taylor is the son of Britt and Jesse Hackbarth. He plans to major in criminal justice while at Augustana.

Gavin Hammrich | 6'3" | 215 | Linebacker | Sioux Falls, S.D. | O'Gorman High School
High School: Hammrich was a four-year high school starter and senior captain, spending two years at Brookings High School before finishing his high school career at O'Gorman. He was a senior captain and earned all-metro conference honors after recording 52 tackles, 2.0 sacks, 2.0 forced fumbles and a defensive touchdown in seven games. He also earned all-metro honors as a junior. 

Personal: Gavin is the son of Aaron and Jenny Hammrich. He plans to major in business management while at Augustana.

Carter Harmann | 6'4" | 225 | Long Snapper | Montgomery, Texas | Lake Creek High School
High School: Harmann was a senior starter for the Lake Creek Lions. He was named an all-district honorable mention defensive end after recording 24 tackles, 9.0 for loss, 4.0 sacks, a fumble recovery and three blocked kicks. He also earned four letters in swimming. 

Personal: Carter is the son of Cameron Harmann and Jodi Harmann. He plans to major in business management while at Augustana.

Antonio Harris | 6'2" | 285 | Offensive Lineman | Omaha, Neb. | Millard South High School
High School: Harris was a two-year starter for the Millard South Patriots. He allowed just one sack in two seasons while winning two state championships. He was named second team super state and was an all-district honoree while anchoring the Patriot offensive line. 

Personal: Antonio is the son of Jonnitta Harris. He plans to major in sports marketing at Augustana. 

Brenner Konrad | 6'3" | 230 | Tight End | Tea, S.D. | Tea Area High School
High School: Konrad was a four-year letterwinner, three-year starter and senior captain for the Tea Area Titans. As a junior, Konrad threw for 324 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 46 times for 384 yards and four touchdowns in just three games of action before an injury.

Personal: Brenner is the son of Thad Konrad and DeeAnn Konrad. He plans to major in finance at Augustana.

Harrison Krueger | 6'1" | 200 | Linebacker | Wahoo, Neb. | Wahoo High School
High School: Krueger was a three-year captain for the Wahoo Warriors. He won a pair of state championships and was named C1 all-state, All-Nebraska, all-district and academic all-conference as a senior. He totaled 136 tackles, a sack, two interceptions and a forced fumble while adding 269 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. As a junior, he racked up 99 tackles, 9.0 for loss, two sacks and an interception while winning state and being named C1 all-state. 

Personal: Harrison is the son of Josh and Sarah Krueger. At Augustana, he plans to major in finance. 

Chase Leary | 6'1" | 200 | Defensive Back | Sioux Falls, S.D. | Brandon Valley High School
High School: Leary was a three-year starter for the Brandon Valley Lynx. He was named all-state, academic all-state, all-metro first team, all-ESD and to the Sioux Falls Live 25 team after recording 58 tackles, 3.0 sacks and seven pass breakups while helping lead the Lynx to a state championship. As a junior he tallied 49 tackles and four interceptions for an 11-1 Brandon Valley squad. 

Personal: Chase is the son of DJ and Jean Leary. He plans to major in finance at Augustana. 

Devon Luckas | 6'2" | 200 | Defensive Back | Anoka, Minn. | Anoka High School
High School: Luckas was a three-year letterwinner, two-year starter and senior captain for the Anoka Tornadoes. As a senior, he racked up 40 tackles, a forced fumble, three blocked kicks and five pass breakups. He had nine pass breakups as a junior to go with 22 tackles while winning a section championship and playing in the state semifinals. 

Personal: Devon is the son of Kelli Beck, Andrew Luckas and Chris Beck. He plans to major in exercise science at Augustana. 

Blayne Marshall | 6'0" | 168 | Defensive Back | Lee's Summit, Mo. | Blue Springs South High School
High School: Marshall was a two-year starter for the Blue Springs South Jaguars. He earned all-county and all-conference as a senior after going the entire season without allowing a touchdown. He earned respect after an all-state performance as a junior, recording six interceptions and a forced fumble while also being named all-county, all-district and all-conference.

Personal: Blayne is the son of Latonya Buchanan and Blayne Marshall. He plans to major in sport management while at Augustana.

Aidan Murphy | 6'4" | 300 | Offensive Line | Denton, Texas | Lewisville High School
High School: Murphy was a two-year starter and senior captain for the Lewisville Farmers. He was tabbed as a unanimous all-district first team member as a senior while being named to the academic all-state first team. As a junior, Murphy was named all-district first team while holding up the offensive line. 

Personal: Aidan is the son of Ellie Murphy and Quiyan Murphy. He plans to major in sports management while at Augustana.

Matthew Okunade | 6'3" | 177 | Wide Receiver | Bournemouth, England | NFL Academy
Previous: Okunade will join the Vikings from the NFL Academy in Loughborough, England. 

Personal: Matthew is the son of Celia Charman and Keith Charman. He plans to major in sports management at Augustana. 

Vaughn Overton | 6'3" | 180 | Defensive Back | Olathe, Kan. | Olathe West High School
High School: Overton was a three-year starter and two-year captain for the Olathe West Owls. As a senior, he was named SIK 6A All-State and named to the 4A-6A Top 100 Team after recording 52 tackles, 11 pass breakups and two fumble recoveries while going the entire season without allowing a touchdown. He helped lead the Owls to an East Regional Championship and a 9-2 record. As a junior, Overton allowed just three catches while making 35 tackles and five pass breakups. 

Personal: Vaughn is the son of Shawn Overton and Trena Horace-Overton. He plans to major in journalism and communications while at Augustana. 

Gabe Prucha | 5'10" | 215 | Running Back | Omaha, Neb. | Millard South High School
High School: Prucha is a four-year letterwinner, two-year starter and senior captain for the Millard South Patriots. He totaled 110 touches for 993 yards and 13 touchdowns while being named academic all-state and helping the Patriots to back-to-back State Championships. He was named to the all-metro team as a junior after collecting 1,200 total yards on 208 touches. He got extended action as a sophomore, picking up 722 yards for a state semifinal team.

Personal: Gabe is the son of Keri McCoy and Brent Prucha. He plans to major in business, education or exercise science while at Augustana.

Hayden Redington | 6'6" | 235 | Tight End | Berlin, Wis. | Berlin High School
High School: Redington was a two-year starter and senior captain for the Berlin Indians. As a senior, he racked up 928 yards on 53 touches and nine touchdowns. He was named all-state honorable mention as both a tight end and linebacker while being named the defensive player of the year. As a junior, he totaled 478 yards in the air and nine touchdowns offensively while tallying 52 tackles, 14.0 for loss, and forced a pair of fumbles while being named all-conference on both sides of the ball. 

Personal: Hayden is the son of Andrew and Carolyn Redington. He plans to major in exercise science while at Augustana.

Tyler Richter | 6'3" | 215 | Linebacker | Franklin, Wis. | Franklin High School
High School: Richter was a two-year starter and senior captain for the Franklin Sabers. He was a part of two conference championship teams and had a combined record of 21-2 in two seasons. He was academic all-state, all-region and first team all-conference as a senior while recording 98 tackles, including 16.0 for loss, and 7.0 sacks. As a junior, Richter collected 50 tackles and 4.0 sacks and was academic all-conference. 

Personal: Tyler is the son of Paul Richter and Mandi Richter. He plans to major in engineering while at Augustana. 

Kamden Schimmel | 5'11" | 180 | Defensive Back | Sioux Falls, S.D. | Harrisburg High School
High School: Schimmel was a two-year starter and senior captain for the Harrisburg Tigers. He tallied 58 tackles, eight pass breakups, three interceptions and a forced fumble while being named to the academic all-state team. As a junior, Schimmel had 56 tackles, three pass breakups and 3.0 tackles for loss. 

Personal: Kamden is the son of Stacy Schimmel and Cory Jones. At Augustana, he plans to major in criminal justice. 

Ja'Marion Simms | 6'9" | 320 | Offensive Line | St. Joseph, Mo. | Lafayette High School
High School: Simms is a three-year starter and senior captain for the Lafayette Fighting Irish. While playing on the defensive line as a senior, he had 30 tackles, two forced fumbles and a sack while being named all-conference honorable mention. 

Personal: Ja'Marion is the son of Erica Simms. He plans to major in computer information systems. 

Latevien Tharpe | 6'1" | 181 | Wide Receiver | Fort Lauderdale, Fla. | Fort Lauderdale High School
High School: Tharpe was a three-year letterwinner and senior captain for the Fort Lauderdale Flying L's. He took 39 receptions for 830 yards and five touchdowns while being named 2025 Miami Herald News honorable mention and a BCAA All-Star. 

Personal: Latevien is the son of Brittany Blige, Joyce Johnson and Kenneth Tharpe. He plans to major in theology while at Augustana.

Sam Uhing | 6'2" | 185 | Wide Receiver | Sioux Falls, S.D. | Washington High School
High School: Uhring was a two-year starter for the Washington Warriors. He was an SDFBCA Select 60 Team honorable mention and Academic All-State selection after catching 32 passes for 526 yards and five touchdowns. As a junior, Uhring had 24 catches for 421 yards and three touchdowns. 

Personal: Sam is the son of Brad and Molly Uhing. He plans to major in biology while at Augustana.

Quinton VeDepo | 5'9" | 165 | Defensive Back | Rosemount, Minn. | Rosemount High School
High School: VeDepo was a three-year starter and senior captain for the Rosemount Fighting Irish. He was an all-district and academic award honoree while being named Player of the Year after recording 56 tackles, two pass breakups and a pick-six for the South Suburban Conference Champions. He was an all-district honorable mention selection as a junior with 36 tackles. 

Personal: Quinton is the son of Scott and Jenny VeDepo. He plans to major in business administration while at Augustana.
