SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana University football moved up one spot to No. 21 in the D2football.com Top 25 Poll. The Vikings were ranked 22nd in the poll last week and made their first appearance in the D2football.com Top 25 Poll since Sept. 6, 2011.
 
Augustana is one of four teams ranked in the D2football.com Top 25 Poll. Minnesota State is ranked fifth, Sioux Falls 16th and Minnesota Duluth 18th.
 
Augustana's first-round opponent in the NCAA Super Region Three playoffs, Humboldt State is ranked 11th in this week's poll.
 
The Vikings recently cracked the AFCA Top 25 Poll. The coaches' poll has Augustana ranked 24th heading into the postseason. Humboldt State is also ranked 11th in the AFCA Top 25.
 
Augustana, the No. 5 seed in Super Region Three, will be making its fourth NCAA Playoff appearance in program history on Saturday. The Vikings will travel to Arcata, Calif. to take on No. 4 seed Humboldt State (9-1).
 
Saturday will be Augustana's third game against an opponent ranked in the AFCA Top 25 this season. Augustana lost a close game on the road, 35-27, to then No. 1 ranked Minnesota State. The Vikings defeated then fifth-ranked Sioux Falls, 35-28, on Oct. 24. The win over USF was Augustana's first over a ranked opponent since defeating No. 6 Grand Valley State in the first round of the NCAA Playoffs on Nov. 27, 2010.
 
Augustana and Humboldt State will square-off in the first round of the NCAA Playoffs on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 3 p.m. (CT) in Arcata, Calif.
