PALM DESERT, Calif. – Augustana women's golf took nine strokes off its first round score, firing a 321 in the second round, to finish in fifth place at 75-over-par 651 (330-321) at the Augustana Spring Fling in Palm Desert, Calif. Oklahoma Christian took home the team title shooting a 38-over-par 614 (316-298) in the 36-hole tournament.
Oklahoma Christian had the top three finishers, including individual medalist Audrey Meisch who shot a five-over-par 149 (78-71), including the tournament-low individual score of 71 on Friday.
Sierra Langlie was the highest finisher for Augustana shooting a 17-over-par 161 to finish 14th overall. Langlie took three strokes off her first round score and shot a 79 this afternoon.
Emily Israelson and
Jennifer Pederson both tied for 17th shooting a 19-over-par 163. Israelson carded a 78 on Friday to go with her first-round score of 85 while Pederson posted an 80 this afternoon.
Katie Grevlos (competing as an individual),
Kali Trautmann and
Jordan Bormann finished in order in 25th, 26th and 27th, respectively. Grevlos finished at 22-over-par 166 (79-87), Trautmann at 23-over-par 167 (81-86) and Bormann at 24-over-par 168 (84-84).
JoDee Wheeler,
Abby Martin and Matt Tschider also competed as individuals for Augustana. Wheeler finished tied for 54th at 37-over-par 181 (90-81), Martin tied for 59th at 40-over-par 184 (95-89) and Tschider placed 62nd at 47-over-par 191 (98-93).
Augustana women's golf returns to action April 2-4 at the Upper Iowa Invite in Waterloo, Iowa.
