SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana football team held its first practice of the spring season out at Kirkeby-Over Stadium on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon.

Jerry Olszewski and his staff began working with returning players on new concepts and schemes and getting familar with some old ones in what is the first stage of preparation for the 2015 season.
Players particpated in multiple team drills, including 7-on-7, O-line vs. D-line contests, and backs and receivers catching passes from the quarterbacks.
Augustana has 78 players on its spring roster and returns 32 letterwinners, including eight starters on offense and six on defense.
Augustana finished 6-5 in 2014, marking its first winning season since 2011. The Vikings finished fifth overall in the final NSIC standings and fourth in the eight-team South Division with a record of 3-4 in divisional play.

Augustana will open the 2015 season on the road taking on Bemidji State on Saturday, Sept. 5 at Chet Anderson Stadium in Bemidji, Minn.
