MORTON, Minn. – Augustana women's golf saved its best round of golf for the final 18 holes of the NSIC/US Bank Tournament shooting a 316 to capture its sixth straight NSIC Championship on Sunday. The Vikings shot a four-round score of 132-over-par 1,284 (321-327-320-316) to finish 23 strokes ahead of Concordia-St. Paul.
For the fourth consecutive year, and fifth time in the last six years, Augustana has captured the individual medalist honor at the NSIC Championship. Freshman
Sierra Langlie matched her tournament-low round of five-over-par 77 to win individual medalist honors at 24-over-par 312 (77-78-80-77).
Augustana had the top two individual finishers at the NSIC Championship as freshman
Emily Israelson placed second overall and seven strokes off the lead shooting a 31-over-par 319 (77-87-78-77). Israelson matched her tournament-low round of five-over-par 77 on Sunday to finish seven strokes behind Langlie.
Jordan Bormann placed in the top 10 with a seventh-place finish shooting a 39-over-par 327 (86-81-77-83). Bormann shot an 11-over-par 83 this afternoon.
Jennifer Pederson and
Kali Trautman also participated in the spring championships for the Vikings after not playing in the fall championships. Pederson fired a seven-over-par 79 today and Trautman came in at 12-over-par 84.
Augustana was ranked second in the latest NCAA Central Region rankings. The Vikings will compete at the NCAA Central Region Tournament at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville, Okla. On May 4-6.
