SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana's Anne Parsley set a new school record and ran a provisional qualifying time in the 400-meter dash as she was joined by eight Vikings who finished top-five in their respective events on the first day at the Howard Wood Relays on Friday.

Parsley hit the provisional standard earlier in the season, but the senior from Flandreau, S.D. improved that mark in the women's 400-meter dash setting the new school record with a new personal-best time of 55.79.

Adam Braun battled against South Dakota State's Andrew Thies in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase. The senior provisionally qualified for the second time this season with a time of 9:08.02 to finish second-place.

Three Vikings finished in the top 10 of the men's 400-meter dash starting with Khor Kong placing fourth with a time of 49.10. Jason Greenway clocked a time of 49.73 while Chris Sharpe finished with a time of 49.95 placing eighth and 10th, respectively.

The men's 4x100 meter relay squad of Ryan Heuer, Greenway [Jason], Thomas Sittig, and Justin Greenway took third place with a time of 42.19.

Kelsey Kaufmann tied for second place in the women's high jump clearing 1.68 meters (5 feet, 6 inches) and finishing as the highest Division II competitor.

In the men's hammer throw, CJ Ham threw a heave of 51.09 meters (167 feet, 7 inches) to take fourth-place overall.

Kaylynn Erlandson recorded a new personal-best jump in the women's triple jump with a clearance of 11.52 meters (37 feet, 9.50 inches) to take fourth-place.

In the women's javelin throw, Kristi Porter placed third with a toss of 36.77 meters (120 feet, 8 inches).

Closing out the day, Megan Brown ran a personal-best in the 5,000-meter run clocking a time of 18:05.02 to take eighth-place. In the men's 5,000-meter run, Paul Yak dominated the race provisionally qualifying with a time of 14:27.66 to take the top mark.

Augustana puts the finishing touches on the 2015 regular season tomorrow as they close the Howard Wood Relays in Sioux Falls with competition beginning at 9 a.m.
