SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana University football (6-3, 3-2 NSIC South) will play its final two games of the regular season on the road, starting at Concordia-St. Paul (2-7, 0-5 NSIC South) this Saturday, Nov. 5. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at Sea Foam Stadium on the campus of Concordia-St. Paul in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Saturday's game will be the 13th all-time meeting between Augustana and Concordia-St. Paul. The Vikings are 8-4 all-time against the Golden Bears after winning last year's regular season finale 76-21 at Kirkeby-Over Stadium. The last time Augustana played at Sea Foam Stadium, the Golden Bears won 17-7 on Nov. 8, 2014 after holding the Vikings scoreless for the first three quarters of the contest.
Augustana enters the week ranked third in the NSIC and 13th in the country averaging 40.9 points per game. The Vikings are averaging 507.0 yards of offense per game which ranks fourth in the league and 13th nationally. Senior quarterback
Trey Heid leads one of the nation's most potent passing attacks into the final two weeks of the season. Augustana leads the NSIC and ranks sixth in the country averaging 345.6 passing yards per game.
Heid has thrown a single season record 32 touchdowns in 2016 which leads the NSIC and ranks fourth in the country. Heid became the NSIC's all-time leader in total offense in last week's win over Winona State. He has accounted for 12,262 yards of total offense in 42 career conference games. He isn't the only player looking to set some records heading into the final two weeks of the regular season.
Senior wide receiver
Matt Heller enters Saturday's game with the second-most receiving touchdowns in the country with 15. He is just three shy of the single season record at Augustana and three shy of tying the all-time career record of 35 at Augustana. He went over 3,000 career receiving yards in last week's win over Winona State and enters Saturday with 163 career catches for 3,002 yards and 32 touchdowns.
Defensive end
Bryson Hamilton is also closing in on a single season record for the Vikings. Hamilton recorded a career-high 2.0 sacks against Winona State last Saturday giving him 7.0 on the season. Hamilton is just one shy of become the second play in as many seasons to tie the single season record.
Jamal Samaha recorded 8.0 sacks in 2015 becoming the fourth player in program history to record 8.0 sacks in a season. Hamilton has recorded 10.0 sacks in 42 career games played for the Vikings.
