ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Justin Warne went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and
Patrick O'Donnell added two hits, including 5 RBI's as Augustana won game three 13-9 and takes the series against Lindenwood, 2-1.
Augustana's bats got going early when
Lucas Barry tripled and
Alex Fink doubled scoring Barry and
Patrick Fiala, who reached base on a hit by pitch (HBP). Later in the inning the Vikings would score three more runs off Lindenwood mistakes as Fink,
Alex Beals and
Kris Ashland all scored.
The Viking lead was short lived though as Lindenwood, would get to Augustana starter
Lincoln Voss who gave up five runs, four of them earned in 1/3 of an inning of work.
Augustana would get a run back in the second as Fink singled and later scored. But it was the fifth inning that would prove to be important for the Vikings. Trailing 7-6 with the bases loaded, O'Donnell hit a bases clearing triple to give Augustana a 9-7 lead. A lead they would hold onto the rest of the way. The Vikings scored three more runs in sixth on four hits, three singles and a double by O'Donnell.
Lindenwood would score one in the bottom of the sixth and ninth but the Viking lead was to much for the Lions in the final game of the three game series.
