SMITHVILLE, Mo. - The Augustana men's golf team entered the final 9-holes of the NSIC Spring Preview in first place, but finished the tournament in fourth place after shooting 31-over par 607 for the tournament.
The Vikings entered the the day with a score of 298 but shot a 309 in the final round.
Ted Urch, who shot a 2-under par 70 yesterday struggled a bit today shooting a 7-over 79. Urch finished the NSIC Preview in a tie for sixth place with a tournament total of 5-over par 149.
Sophomore
Parker Klitzke finished in the top-10 after improving by one stroke with a 75. He earned a 10th place finish after shooting a 7-over par 151 for the tournament. Fellow sophomore
Dakota Waverek finished tied for 13th with a 9-over par 153.
Clay Kopplin finished tied for 17th with a 10-over par 154. Kopplin improved by two strokes today with a score of 76.
Matt Drake tied for 36th after shooting an 18-over par 162. He shot an 81 in each round.
Les Williams  finished in 50th after shooting a 30-over par 174.
Augustana will be back on the golf course next week as they compete in the Upper Iowa Invitational April 2-3 in Waterloo, Iowa.
