SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana University softball (18-11, 5-1 NSIC) will open its 2016 home schedule this weekend with a pair of doubleheaders at Bowden Field. The Vikings have played 29 straight games away from Sioux Falls and will open the home schedule against MSU Moorhead (8-14, 1-5 NSIC) on Saturday, April 2, at 12 p.m.
 
On Sunday, Augustana will host Northern State (12-18, 2-4 NSIC) in a doubleheader with first pitch of game one set for 12 p.m. Augustana's next 12 games will be played in Sioux Falls, including 10 home contests.
 
Last time out
• Augustana split a doubleheader at Upper Iowa on Tuesday, dropping the opener 5-1 before winning the nightcap 3-2
• In game one, Upper Iowa capitalized on three Augustana errors in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring four runs to gain a 5-0 lead over the Vikings
• The Vikings scored their lone run of the game in the top of the seventh on an RBI double by Maddie Merriam with two outs in the inning
• Maggie Kadrlik led the Vikings to a 3-2 win in game two, finishing with a double and a home run

• Senior left-handed pitcher Carley Pickett made history in the win over Missouri Western on Feb. 21
• Pickett picked up her 18th career save which tied the all-time saves record at Augustana
• Pickett tied Chelsey Durland who recorded 18 saves from 2009-12
• Pickett has led the NSIC in saves in two straight seasons
• As a sophomore in 2014, Pickett led the country with nine saves
 
Offensively speaking
• Augustana's offense continues to roll during the 2016 season
• Augustana ranks second in the NSIC with a .325 team batting average
• The Vikings rank fourth in the NSIC in run scored (173), first in doubles (53) and second in home runs (27)
• Augustana ranks 15th in the country averaging 1.85 doubles per game
 
Leading things off
• Senior center fielder Carly Peterson continues to rip the ball all over the park out of the leadoff spot for Augustana
• Peterson is batting .374 to go along with a .461 on-base percentage and a .616 slugging percentage
• Peterson leads the NSIC with 13 doubles on the year and ranks seventh in the country in doubles per game
• Peterson also has hit one triple and three home runs in 2016

• Sophomore Maggie Kadrlik is batting .348 for the Vikings with 32 hits in 92 at-bats
• Kadrlik has been producing runs at a high level and enters the weekend as the NSIC's leader in RBI with 31
• Kadrlik has seven doubles on the season and ranks second in the NSIC with eight home runs
• Kadrlik hit a grand slam at U-Mary on Feb. 25 and finished the game with two home runs and a career-high six RBI
