SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - No. 22 Augustana improves to 7-0 on the young season with a three set victory over Chadron State (25-13, 25-20, 26-24) Saturday morning at the Augustana Invitational.

Augustana jumped all over Chadron State in set one earning the first four points of the set. After the Eagles got the set to within one, Augustana seven unanswered points to extend their lead to 13-5. The Vikings didn't allow Chadron State to get within seven the rest of the match, to earn a set one win 25-13.

Set two didn't start the way Augustana would have liked, falling into a quick 5-2 whole but the Vikings didn't quit. Augustana tied the match at nine all before the two teams traded points. Augustana began to pull away after getting their first lead at 14-13. The Vikings went on to take set two 25-20.

Much like set two, Augustana was in a battle from the first serve with Chadron State falling into a 7-4 whole. The Vikings tied the set at eight but again fell behind by two. After tying the match again, this time at 10, Augustana fell behind once more. Chadron State put the Vikings into a five point deficit at 17-13 before slowly making a comeback. After Augustana gained a 24-21 advantage Chadron State closed the gap tying it at 24. The Vikings went on to win the next two points and close out the set 26-24 and take the match.

Viking of the Game
Anna Sykora had 41 assists in just three sets, her second 41 assists, three set performance of the weekend. Sykora added one kill and 10 digs for fourth double-double of the season. Sykora also had one solo block and three assisted blocks.

Vikings Notables
• The last time Augustana won three matches in a row by sweeps was Sept. 9-10, 2011 when they defeated Minnesota Crookston, Minot State and St. Cloud State in Moorhead, Minn.
• Bailey Koch was the only Vikings with double-digit kills (10)
• Tahlyr Banks led the team with 27 digs
• Ashley Wilson led the team with 12.5 points. She had nine kills, one solo block and five assisted blocks
• Three Vikings had double-digit digs: Banks (27), Brittany Cech (13), Sykora (10)
• Augustana had nine blocks as a team
• Freshman Sophia Terwilleger earned her first career kill
• The Vikings improved to 15-0 in tournaments they host over the past four seasons
• Augustana extended their series record against Chadron State to 5-1. The last five wins for the Vikings have all be in straight sets
