ROMEOVILLE, ILL. - Augustana volleyball (2-0) came away victorious Friday night as they upset No. 3 Palm Beach Atlantic in their second match of the Lewis University Flyer Festival.
After earning three of the first four points in the first set the Sailfish were able to work there way back into the match tying it at eight all. They would grind out the rest of the set earning a narrow 25-23 set win.
After falling in the first set, the Vikings were determined to not allow another set to slip away, jumping on Palm Beach Atlantic in set two. Augustana scored early and increased their lead to 16-9 before the sailfish could put together a few small runs but none would be enough to catch the Vikings who took the set 25-15.
The third set was a back and forth contest as they teams traded points until it was 13 all. After the tie Augustana strung together six straight points to grab a 20-13 lead. They would not relinquish the lead, earning a 25-19 set three win.
In the fourth set of the match it looked like the No. 3 team in the country was going to make a comeback as they jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead. But the lead didn't last long as the Vikings came back to tie it at five all. After trading points to a 14-14 tie, the Vikings made their move just as they had in set three. Augustana earned two quick points and never looked back earning the 25-20 set win and upsetting the third ranked team in the country.

Brittany Cech had an all-around great performance in match against Palm Beach Atlantic earning 14 kills, 19 digs and three assists. Both her 14 kills and 19 digs were second most on the team.
