MARSHALL, Minn. – Augustana University women's golf shot 57-over-par 633 (309-324) and won the Mustang Invite by 11 strokes. The Vikings fired a 26-over-par 324 on Sunday to finish first out of 12 teams. Augustana's
Hannah Hankinson won individual medalist honors at 10-over-par 154.
Augustana finished 11 strokes ahead of Minnesota State who placed second shooting 68-over-par 644 (320-324).
Hankinson was in second place following the first round of play on Saturday but she fired a 7-over-par 79 this afternoon to finish at 10-over-par 154 (75-79) to win her first individual medalist honor as a Viking.
Augustana had four players finish in the top-5 of the Mustang Invite, including
Emily Israelson and
Kali Trautman who tied for second at 13-over-par 157.
Israelson fired a 9-over-par 81 to go along wih her first round score of 4-over-par 76. Trautman shot a 5-over-par 77 before finishing at 8-over-par 80 this afternoon.
Sierra Langlie, who was competing as an individual for the Vikings, tied for fifth overall shooting 14-over-par 158. Langlie shot 5-over-par 77 yesterday before finishing 9-over-par 81 this afternoon.
Jordan Bormann tied for 17th shooting 21-over-par 165 (81-84) while
McKayla Poppens finished 19th overall at 23-over-par 167 (81-86).
Sydney Weber and
Abby Martin both competed as individuals for the Vikings at the Mustang Invite. Weber tied for 22nd shooting 26-over-par 170 (84-86) and Martin placed 45th at 35-over-par 179 (86-93).
Augustana will return to the course Oct. 3-4 hosting the Super Regional Fall Preview at Minnehaha Country Club.
