CROOKSTON, Minn. -- Double-doubles from
Courtney Place and
Alex Banker, along with a team attack percentage of .333, helped the No. 16 Augustana volleyball team pick up their 11th sweep of the season in a 3-0 route of Minnesota Crookston Friday night.
The Vikings won set one, 25-13, set two 25-14 and set three 25-16 to improve to 19-8 overall and 10-7 in the NSIC.
"I'm proud of the way our team handled themselves on the road tonight," head coach
Jennifer Jacobs said. "As we have been saying all year, any NSIC team is tough to beat on their home court, so I'm glad we came out with energy and fire tonight."
Place,
Payton Rosendahl and
Lauren Waite led the match with 11 kills each. Place hit .273 on the night while recording 13 digs.
Banker, a senior setter out of Omaha, Neb. tallied a match-high 52 assists (17.3 assists per set) to go along with a career-high 19 digs.
Seniors
Ashley Wilson and
Bailey Koch each crushed eight kills on the night. Wilson recorded her eight kills efficiently, using just 13 attacks to hit for .538. Koch followed suit as she hit for .333 on the night.
Tahlyr Banks set the tone for Augustana defensively as she lead both teams with 20 digs. As a team the Vikings had 81 digs to Crookston's 61. Augustana held the Golden Eagles' Â to just a .116. Hitting percentage.
Minnesota Crookston falls to 7-18 overall and 4-12 in conference play.
The Vikings return to action Saturday, Oct. 4 when they take on Bemidji State. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
