SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana women's tennis team extended their NSIC regular season win streak to 79 wins with the 9-0 victory over Minnesota State on Friday night at the GreatLIFE Woodlake Athletic Club. The Vikings improve to 2-1 (2-0 NSIC) on the season.
The Vikings picked up where they left off from the night before with a sweep of doubles.
Kornelia Staniszewska and
Berkley Darr paired up at No. 1 doubles and won 8-2.
At No. 2 doubles the freshmen tandem of
Taylor Jackson and
Rebecca Falkner won 8-1.
Meredith Lawrence and
Kaitlyn Motley finished off doubles with an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
Staniszewska made quick work of Minnesota State's Erin Streeter with a straight set victory at No. 1 doubles, 6-0, 6-0. Darr and Jackson each won in straight sets at No. 2 and 3 singles, respectively.
At No. 5 singles, Lawrence breezed through Lisa Dobbelaere, 6-0, 6-0.
Christine Olivo fended off Monika Ryan at No. 4 singles by winning in the tiebreaker, 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7). Motley finished off the match with a straight sets win at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-4.
Augustana will wrap up the weekend in Minneapolis against Carleton College tomorrow Feb. 12. The match will take place at Lifetime Fitness at 2:30 p.m.
