SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana women's tennis team continues its trek through the NSIC, taking on MSU Moorhead and U-Mary in Bismarck, N.D. on Saturday and Sunday. The men's tennis team will play two matches in St. Peter, Minn. on Saturday against Central College (Iowa) and Gustavus Adolphus.
The women's tennis goes into the weekend with a 3-1 (2-0 NSIC) record on the season and are riding a 79-match winning streak against NSIC teams during the regular season. The Vikings will take on MSU Moorhead on Saturday at 5 p.m. and will play against U-Mary on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The men's tennis team enters the weekend with a 3-0 record after defeating South Dakota State, 5-4, on Feb. 8. Augustana will go up against Central College (Iowa) at 1:30 p.m. and take on Gustavus Adolphus at 6:30 p.m. with both matches taking place on Saturday.
Augustana Women
The Vikings are led by sophomore
Kornelia Staniszewska and senior
Meredith Lawrence. Staniszewska is already a two-time NSIC Player of the Week honoree and has a record of 3-0 from the No. 1 singles position this season. Lawrence also holds an unblemished record going 3-0 playing at No. 5 singles.
In doubles, Staniszewska and
Berkley Darr are 3-0 playing at No. 1 doubles and at No. 3 doubles Lawrence and
Kaitlyn Motley also hold a 3-0 record.
MSU Moorhead
The Dragons will bring a 1-2 (0-2 NSIC) record into the weekend, having dropped matches to Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State last weekend.
MSU Moorhead is led by Jessamy Jones, Olivia Keelin and Maria Moral Carretero who are all unbeaten in singles play. Jones is 3-0 playing No. 1 singles, Keelin is 2-0 at No. 2 singles and Moral Carretero is 3-0 at No. 5 singles.
U-Mary
U-Mary is 0-2 (0-2 NSIC) on the season after falling to Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State last weekend. U-Mary will take on Sioux Falls on Saturday before its matchup against the Vikings.
The Marauders are led by Eileen Leong who is 2-0 at No. 5 singles. The top doubles pairing for the Marauders is Lisa Anderson and Shanna Stevenson at No. 3 doubles who are 2-0.
Augustana Men
The Vikings are led by freshmen
Logan Barr and
Charlie Adkins who are each 3-0 in singles play. Adkins plays at No. 2 singles and Barr play at No. 3 singles.
At doubles, the brother tandem of Charlie and
Zach Adkins is 3-0 at No. 1 doubles and the pair of Barr and
Joe Sawatzke are 3-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Central College (Iowa)
Central College brings a record of 1-3 on the season into this weekend's match. The Dutch are led by Garret Taylor who is 2-2 at No. 1 singles. In doubles, Sam Dykstra and Tom Palmer are 2-0 at No. 3 doubles.
Gustavus Adolphus
Gustavus Adolphus is 4-2 on the season riding a four match winning streak heading into this weekend's matchup against Augustana. The Gusties are led by Mohanad Alhouni at No. 1 singles with a record of 4-1.

The women's tennis team is on the road next weekend playing three matches in four days. The Vikings take on Southwest Baptist on Feb. 23 in St. Joseph, Mo. and then travel north to battle NSIC foes Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston in Grand Forks, N.D. on Feb. 25 and 26.
The men's tennis team will host Morningside Friday, Feb. 24 at GreatLIFE Woodlake Athletic Club at 6 p.m.
