GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Augustana women's tennis team got back on track on Saturday with a 9-0 victory over Bemidji State. The Vikings moved to 6-2 (5-0 NSIC) on the season and improved their NSIC regular season winning streak to 82 matches.
Augustana did not drop a set against Bemidji State. In NSIC play this season, the Vikings have yet to lose a match, winning all five matches 9-0.
In doubles, they dynamic duo of
Kornelia Staniszewska and
Berkley Darr remained moved to 5-1 at No. 1 doubles with an 8-2 win over Morgan Opp and Zoe Lindgren.
Taylor Jackson and
Meredith Lawrence at No. 2 doubles and
Kaitlyn Motley and
Rebecca Falkner at No. 3 doubles followed suit with each pair claiming 8-4 victories.
In singles, the Vikings decided to shift their lineup around and it produced the same result. Augustana swept singles play and won the match 9-0.
Jackson improved to 2-0 on the season at the No. 1 position with a 6-3, 7-5 victory. Darr moved to 5-0 in NSIC play with a straight sets win at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Christine Olivio also moved to 5-0 in NSIC play with a 6-4, 7-5 win.
Falkner improved to 5-0 on the season and won her first match at No. 4 singles by a score of 6-2, 6-1. Motley moved to 4-2 on the year and 2-0 at No. 5 singles with a convincing, 6-1, 6-1 victory.
Annika Teske saw her first action of the season on Saturday earning a 7-5, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles.
Augustana will wrap up the weekend against Minnesota Crookston at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26 in Grand Forks, N.D.
