GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Augustana women's tennis team continued to stroll through NSIC play with a 9-0 victory over Minnesota Crookston on Sunday morning in Grand Forks, N.D. The Vikings move to 7-2 (6-0 NSIC) on the season and pushed their regular season NSIC win streak to 83 matches.
With the Vikings 9-0 win over the Golden Eagles, Augustana has yet to drop a match against an NSIC opponent this season. The Vikings also only dropped a total of three sets against Minnesota Crookston.
In doubles,
Taylor Jackson and
Meredith Lawrence at No. 1 doubles and
Christine Olivo and
Anna Steinwand at No. 3 doubles won by scores of 8-0. At No. 2 doubles
Rebecca Falkner and
Kaitlyn Motley won 8-1.
In singles play,
Berkley Darr played No. 1 singles for the first time this season and came away victorious by a score of 6-0, 6-0. Also earning 6-0, 6-0 victories was Falkner at No. 3 singles, Motley at No. 4 singles and
Annika Teske at No. 5 singles.
At No. 2 singles, Olivo played at the position for the first time this season and won by a score of 6-1, 6-0. Steinwand improved to 2-0 on the season with a 6-0, 6-1, victory at No. 6 singles.
The Vikings return to action on Saturday, March 4 when they host Division I opponent Iowa State at the GreatLIFE Woodlake Athletic Club at 1 p.m.
