WAIPAHU, Hawaii - Augustana baseball's Hawaii trip came to an end Saturday. The Vikings battled the Sharks of Hawaii Pacific for the fifth time in the last four days but came up just short, falling to HPU 3-0.
Augustana (1-4) struggled from the plate all afternoon, picking up just three hits in the nine-inning affair.
Hawaii Pacific scored in the first frame on a sacrifice ground out and then added two insurance runs in the third on a Viking error.
The Vikings threatened in the third after
Ryan Menssen singled to center and
Sam Baier was hit by a pitch. But a fly out to center and a fielder's choice ended the Vikings chances at any runs.
