HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Augustana women's tennis team fell to Division I George Mason, 5-2, at the Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head Island, S.C. on Wednesday. The Vikings dropped to 7-4 (6-0 NSIC) on the season and 0-3 against Division I competition.

In doubles, Kornelia Staniszewska and Berkley Darr teamed up for an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles against Sydney Green and Rachel Lee. The Patriots would take the doubles point, however, after winning Nos. 2 and 3 doubles by the identical score of 8-2.

In singles, George Mason would take four of the six matches to secure the 5-2 win over the Vikings. At No. 1 singles, Staniszewska improved to 7-0 on the season with a 7-5, 7-6 (10-4) victory over Sydney Green. At No. 4 singles Christine Olivo picked up the other win for the Vikings with a 6-3, 6-2 straight sets wins over Rachel Lee.

The Vikings will wrap up their Spring Trip on Thursday morning against Edinboro at 8:30 a.m. at the Chaplin Park Tennis Center in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
