INDIANAPOLIS – Augustana University women's golf is ranked fourth in the first release of the Central Region rankings released by the NCAA on Thursday. Augustana will host the NCAA Central Super Regional May 8-10 at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls.
Augustana was the highest of five NSIC teams ranked in the initial release of the region rankings. Arkansas Tech earned the No. 1 spot in the first regional poll, followed by Southwestern Oklahoma State in second and Northeastern State in third.
Augustana has won the NCAA Central Super Region title five times in the last seven seasons, including two straight years (2014-15 and 2015-16).
The entire field for the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship will be announced Monday, May 1 at 3 p.m. on NCAA.com. Four, 54-hole Super Regional tournaments will be conducted to determine the participants in the championship finals. Twelve teams and six individuals, not on those teams, will compete at each Super Regional.
The top three teams and three individuals, from non-advancing teams, at each regional site will advance to the NCAA Championship May 17-20 at the Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio.
Augustana will be back in action April 20-22 at the NSIC Championship in Morton, Minnesota. The Vikings enter the NSIC Championship as the seven-time defending champions.
