SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana women's tennis team defeated Minnesota Duluth, 7-2, and clinched its eighth consecutive NSIC regular season championship. The Vikings improved to 12-5 (10-0 NSIC) on the season and moved their regular NSIC winning streak to 87 matches.
"I'm just really proud of our girls for continuing the winning tradition of our program," head coach
Marc Kurtz said of his team winning the NSIC regular season title. "Eight straight titles is no easy feat. I love how we go out and compete and fight for every point. This mentality allows us to be successful on the court. Tonight was a good team win and we will be ready for St. Cloud State tomorrow in our last regular season match."
In doubles, the Vikings took two of three of the matches to take a 2-1 lead.

Berkley Darr raced past Shelby Benkofske and Kelsey Zetah, 8-0, at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles

Meredith Lawrence had no problem with Drew DeCorsey and Megan Anderson, en route to an 8-1 win.
In singles, the Vikings took five out of the six matches to breeze to a 7-2 victory. Jackson earned a straight sets win at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-1 and Darr rolled through DeCorsey to a 6-1, 6-0, win at No. 2 singles.
At Nos. 4 and 5 singles, Lawrence and
Rebecca Falkner won by identical scores of 6-0, 6-1.
Kaitlyn Motley concluded the night with a hard fought, 7-5, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8) win at No. 6 singles.
The Vikings conclude the regular on Sunday morning at 9 a.m. at the GreatLIFE Woodlake Athletic Club against St. Cloud State.
