Bormann named to CoSIDA Academic All-District team

Jordan Bormann named to CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 Team
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana University junior student-athlete Jordan Bormann was named to the 13-member College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District™ 7 Team the national organization announced Thursday.
 
District 7 is made up of teams from the Northern Sun intercollegiate Conference, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association and the Great American Conference. The CoSIDA Academic All-District™ team is voted on by sports information directors from the member schools and conference offices from the region.
 
The Academic All-District™ team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
 
Bormann will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot, where first, second and third team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
 
Bormann, a senior on the women's golf team from Parkston, South Dakota, owns a 3.94 GPA as a biology major at Augustana. A four-year letterwinner, Bormann is a three-time Academic All-NSIC and WGCA All-America Scholar honoree. She has been named All-NSIC Second Team twice in her career, including in 2016-17 after her third straight top-10 finish at the NSIC Championship. Bormann earned NSIC Golfer of the Week honors twice in 2016-17 following a first place finish at the Super Region Three Fall Preview on Oct. 3 and a second-place finish at the UNK Spring Invite on March 26.
 
She fired a season-low round of 73 in the second round of the UNK Spring Invite. Bormann owns an 80.3 stroke average on the season and has three top-10 finishes, including two in the top-5 and one medalist honor. Bormann was recently named an Honor Student-Athlete by the NSIC and was awarded the Butch Raymond Scholarship from the NSIC in May of 2016.
 
Bormann is the fifth member of the women's golf program to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, joining Katie Tobin (2010-11), Maggie Leland (2011-12 and 2013-14), Emily Kvidera (2011-12) and Allie Ostrander (2013-14).
 
To be nominated for CoSIDA Academic All-District consideration, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.00 scale) at his or her institution.
 
Bormann and the Augustana women's golf team placed second at the NCAA Super Region Three Championship earning a spot at the 2016-17 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships which will be played May 17-20 in Findlay, Ohio.
 
Located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Augustana University is a member of NCAA Division II and competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
