Augustana women's golf concludes 2016-17 season with 9th-place finish at NCAA Championship
FINDLAY, Ohio – Augustana University women's golf fired its lowest round of the 72-hole NCAA Division II Women's National Championship in the final round on Saturday. The Vikings shot 23-over-par 311 to finish at 121-over-par 1273 (318-323-321-311) tying for ninth out of 12 teams.
 
Augustana has finished in the top-10 at the NCAA Division II National Championship six times in program history.
 
Barry University won the 2017 team National Championship by one stroke over Dallas Baptist University. Barry shot 13-over-par 301 on Saturday to finish at 70-over-par 1222 (309-307-305-301). Dallas Baptist matched its tournament-low round of 11-over-par 299 to close-out the four-round championship at 71-over-par 1223 (299-311-314-299).
 
Marie Coors of St. Leo University won the individual national championship shooting 7-over-par 295 (74-75-75-71) shooting 1-under-par in Saturday's final round. Coors was competing at the national championship as an individual for St. Leo.
 
Emily Israelson had a strong finish for the Vikings on day four moving up 15 spots to finish tied for 13th individually at 22-over-par 310 (78-76-84-72). Israelson fired even-par 72 on Saturday getting off to a fast start to pick up her highest career finish in three seasons at the NCAA Championship. Augustana started the fourth round on the back nine and Israelson fired three birdies to make the turn at 2-under-par. She had a pair of bogeys on No. 2 and No. 3 before closing-out the day making par on six straight holes to finish at even-par.
 
Kali Trautman finished tied for 33rd shooting 29-over-par 317 (81-80-77-79). Trautman fired a 7-over-par 79 on Saturday also getting off to a strong start on the back nine. She made par on the first four holes of the day before going one over on No. 14. Trautman went back to even-par with a birdie on No. 16 and she made the turn even before firing 7-over on the front nine to close-out the day.
 
Sierra Langlie tied for 47th for the Vikings finishing the championship at 34-over-par 322 (78-81-82-81) after shooting 9-over-par 81 on Saturday. Hannah Hankinson also fired a 9-over-par 81 to finish the tournament tied for 61st at 40-over-par 328 (81-86-80-81).
 
Senior Jordan Bormann concluded her four-year career for the Vikings on Saturday making her third career appearance at the NCAA Division II National Championship. Bormann saved her best round of the championship for the last firing a 7-over-par 79 on Saturday to finish 70th overall at 49-over-par 337 (90-86-82-79).
 
The Vikings made their ninth NCAA Championship tournament appearance in the last 10 seasons in 2016-17 after winning the program's eighth straight NSIC Championship.
