LAKEVILLE, MINN. -- Picking up their third consecutive 9-0 decision and their fourth straight sweep, the Augustana women's tennis team cruised to their fifth victory of the 2017-18 season with a win over Carleton Friday night.
Kornelia Staniszewska and
Berkley Darr remain undefeated at No. 1 doubles on the season, adding an 8-1 victory over the Knights Zoe Park and Danielle Vasiliev to their resume. Both Staniszewska and Darr defeated Park and Vasiliev at No. 1 and 2 singles respectively.
Taylor Jackson and
Kaitlyn Schultz defeated Carleton's Alana Danieu and Kristina Conrad at No. 2 doubles. Jackson earned a 6-4, 7-5 victory at No. 3 singles over Conrad while
Grace Goble knocked off Danilu 6-2, 7-5 at No. 4 singles.
Goble and
Anca Rusu earned the tough 9-8 (5) victory over Elizabeth Yim and Madeline Prins at No. 3 doubles. Rusu then beat Prins 6-2, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
In the No. 5 singles match,
Annika Teske picked up a win over Elizabeth Yim (6-3, 6-2) to keep the successful day for the Vikings rolling.
Augie improves to 5-1 overall win the win.
The Vikings return to conference action Saturday, Feb. 17 when they host U-Mary at 9 a.m. inside the Greatlife Woodlake Athletic Club.
