SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Berkley Darr, a senior out of Sioux Falls, S.D., led the Augustana women's tennis team to a 9-0 sweep over conference foe Minnesota State Moorhead Sunday morning from the Greatlife Woodlake Athletic Club.
The Sioux Falls Washington product defeated Olivia Keelin, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Darr and
Kornelia Staniszewska earned a No. 1 doubles victory over Keelin and Julia Geske, 8-3.
Staniszewska, a junior from Opalenie, Poland, and the NSIC Preseason Player of the Year, stayed undefeated on the year and garnered a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Geske at No. 1 singles play Sunday morning.
Taylor Jackson and
Kaitlyn Schultz defeated Alyssa Wolf and Alexis Konecne at No. 2 doubles. Jackson defeated Wolf at No. 3 singles 6-3, 6-3 while Schultz earned the 6-2, 6-2 victory over Emma Zamora at No. 6 singles.
Grace Goble and
Anca Rusu defeated Riquel Ramsbottom and Zamora, 8-2 at No. 3 doubles. Goble took down Ramsbottom 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. At No. 5 singles,
Annika Teske earned the 6-2, 6-0 victory over Konecne.
With the win, the Vikings improve to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the NSIC, while the Dragons drop to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in league play.
Augustana returns to action Saturday, Feb. 24 when they host Minnesota Crookston at 7 p.m. inside the Greatlife Woodlake Athletic Club.
