Women’s Golf Sits Atop First Central Region Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS - The Augustana women's golf team takes first in the first Central Region rankings of 2018 the NCAA released on Thursday. The NCAA Central Super Regional will be played at Missouri Bluffs Golf Club in St. Charles, Mo., hosted by Lindenwood University on May 7-9.

Augustana is one of two NSIC teams in the initial 14-team rankings. The Vikings sit in first and Minnesota State sits at No. 10. There are six GAC and MIAA schools in the rankings. Rounding out the top-five are Arkansas Tech, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Central Oklahoma and Henderson State.

Augustana has won the NCAA Central Super Region title five times in the last eight seasons and took second in Sioux Falls, S.D. last year.

The entire field for the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship will be announced Monday, April 30 on NCAA.com. Four, 54-hole Super Regional tournaments will be conducted to determine the participants in the championship finals. Twelve teams and six individuals, not on those teams, will compete at each Super Regional.

The top three teams and three individuals, from non-advancing teams, at each regional site will advance to the NCAA Championship on May 16-19 at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas.

Augustana competes tomorrow in its final regular season meet of the season in Vermillion, S.D., hosting the Augustana Spring Invitational at the Bluffs at 9:30 a.m.
