MINNETONKA, Minn. – The Augustana women's tennis team used a dominating doubles performance to secure a 5-0 win over U-Mary, and advance to the semifinals of the NSIC tournament.
The Vikings, who improve to 19-3 on the season, won all three doubles matches, and then won a pair of singles matches in straight sets to secure the shutout win. The Marauders end the season with a 6-10 record.
Kornelia Staniszewska and
Berkley Darr cruised to a win in No. 1 doubles, as did
Taylor Jackson and
Kaitlyn Schultz at No. 2 doubles, who won 8-5.
Grace Goble and
Anca Rusu won No. 3 doubles 8-0.
Goble finished first in singles at No. 3, winning 6-2, 6-0, setting the stage for Schultz, who secured the win with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.
With the win, the Vikings advance to play either Bemidji State or Minnesota Duluth on Sunday at 8 a.m.
